Guest OS: Windows Vista Business
Issue: I've been running Fusion for about 30 days. 90% of the time it's been solid (see previous issues below). Last night my VM was not responding so I tried to restart it and it wouldn't boot back up. First time this has ever happened. No HW changes. I did install one new piece of SW to control teathered 3G internet access over my phone a day ago (PDAnet).
Windows Xp In Safe Mode
**Background: Leopard & Vista have all SW updates available via the internet update services. VM tools are installed. VM NOT bootcamp. VM was created in Fusion.
**Attempted solutions: 1. No luck with shut down VM SW and reboot Mac. 2. Tried to boot in different Windows modes, won't boot in safe mode, won't boot into last known good. 3. Successfully booted into an older version of the VM. 4. I'm not sure if a repair via the DVD is possible??
**Previous and maybe related issues: I have had 5 or so random blue screens. (Can't get to stop codes because I can't get into the OS) They flashed quickly and did the data dump. Audio/USB/Windows 'Generic' issues. Maybe others. I also had one VM lockup that locked up Leopard too. Honestly, I put those on the back burner because I was focused on setup. I figured I'd research those later.
**About my experience: I'm a Windows convert, this is my first go at Mac and running windows as a VM, so I'm a newbie. Forgive me if I miss things. I've used/administered windows for 13 years and know it inside and out. I'm reading like crazy to learn Leopard, Fusion and MacI'm picking it up quicklya lot seems to translate easily. I know I have a ton left to learn.
Thanks for your help!
